IS MY DOG RIGHT FOR THIS?

My dog can't be off leash. Can you still photograph them?

Yes! I prefer dogs to stay on-leash during our session, unless we’re in a fully-enclosed area. Safety is always my top priority. Keeping dogs on-leash keeps the dogs safe, ensures we adhere to local leash laws, and it also helps us to pose the dog where we want him/her. I will remove leashes from the final photographs during the editing process.

My dog won't sit or stay. Can you still photograph them?

Yes! Most of the pets I photograph are regular companions with basic housetraining. Let’s just say they haven’t won any awards for obedience - and that’s just fine with me! I love to see all of your pet’s personality and create photos that capture that. Plus, keeping them on leash makes it easy to get your dog to stay in one place.

My dog is nervous or reactive. How can we have a session?

I have a reactive dog, so I get it. We’ll choose a location that suits your dogs’ temperament. This could be at your home, in my home studio, or at an outdoor location that doesn’t get much foot traffic or where your dog is already comfortable. I'll do everything I can to help your dog feel safe during their session (including lots of treats!).

Is my Cat right For this?

Please answer the following questions:

• Does your cat love to take naps?
• Does your cat love to sit in the sun?
• Does your cat let you know when there is not/enough/too much/don’t touch me there/petting?
• Is your cat a goofball?
• A sometimes faintly aloof-ball of fur?
• Does your cat like to play with toys?
• Is your cat too lazy to play with toys?

If you said yes to any of these questions, CONGRATS, your cat is perfect for a photo session!

Cat sessions are held in your home, and as usual, the cat is the boss. We work on their timeline, and we let them call the shots. When your cat is relaxed and in charge, I can capture their whole personality.

The photos that result are perfect, just like they are.

Do you photograph other types of pets?

Yes! Dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, birds, lizards – I photograph them all.

I have a whole herd of pets. Can they all be photographed?

Yes! Up to 3 pets are included in my Session Fee. If you have more pets than that, a $50 fee will apply for each additional pet.

My pet has unique needs. Can we do the session a bit differently?

Absolutely. All pets are important members of the family. It would be my pleasure to work with you to customize the experience to meet your beloved pets’ needs. Let’s discuss how we can make your experience incredible!

I have a new puppy/kitten and I want to capture their puppy cuteness. Can you fit me in ASAP?

Probably. I usually book sessions a few months in advance, but I leave a few special openings just for last-minute requests for sessions that are time sensitive. Contact me to schedule your session before your little one grows into their paws and loses that soft baby fur!

I have a senior pet nearing the end. Can you fit me in ASAP?

First of all, I'm so sorry you're going through this difficult time. I leave a few special openings just for last-minute requests for sessions that are time sensitive. Contact me to schedule your session ASAP so we can honour your furry friend and the time you spent together.

Can I be in the photos, too?

Of course! I recommend getting at least a few photographs of you with your pet. Often, these are some of the most treasured photographs from our session. The bond you have with your pet is unique and special, and creating memories of that is super important.

Do I have to be in the photos, too?

No, that's up to you. BUT I do highly recommend jumping in at least a few. If you’re shy, just let me know and I can take some creative photographs that show the bond between you, while keeping the focus on your pet. Remember, you only purchase the photographs that you love. Let’s get some photos with you and your pet together and if you don’t like them, we’ll just delete them.

Do I need to know how I want to display my photos before the viewing?

Not at all! That’s what I’m there for. We’ll talk about your home and your favourite photos, and then I’ll show you samples of the products and help you decide on something that’s perfect for you.

If you do have an idea of what kind of artwork you’re looking for - great! Be sure to let me know so I can photograph with that in mind.

This is a big investment for me. Can I pay in instalments?

Absolutely. 25% of the total is due at your Photo Reveal & Ordering Appointment, and the rest can be spread out over 2 to 12 months. After your final payment, your artwork is ordered and delivered to you.

I’ve chosen an outdoor session. What if the weather is bad?

If rain or snow storms are a possibility, I’ll monitor the forecast and make the call the day before/morning of the session and contact you to reschedule. Your Session Fee simply transfers over to our new session date.

What if I need to reschedule?

If you need to reschedule, please do your best to let me know as soon as possible. I’ll do everything I can to accommodate a new session date that’s convenient for us both.
