It’s been an absolute privilege to photographing so many dogs and their people in Ottawa for the past 5 years.
To bid Ottawa farewell and celebrate an excellent 5 years here, I’m offering a rare mini-session event. I hope this will give as many Ottawa dog parents as possible one final chance to have epic photos.

I’m the one at the party who’s on the floor cuddling the dog. I’m an introvert with a sentimental heart. I hate being in a crowded room of strangers, but I LOVE connecting one-on-one to other dog people.
I’m known for creating one-of-a-kind photos that pet parents are proud to hang on their walls.I create stunning portraits of every dog. No training or “good behaviour” required (for the dogs or the people).
I’m a real stickler for the details. The end result of a photo session with me is going home with artwork that represents your pets’ unique personality.
Sam’s Farewell Mini-Sessions are condensed 20-minute sessions. The photos will be just as beautiful as a regular session, but there will be fewer of them to choose from at your Reveal & Ordering Appointment.

When you book your session in the first 48 hours (before 8am on July 5), you’ll receive: One complimentary 5×7 Fine Art Print ($200 value) of your included Artist’s Choice digital photo.
Fine Art prints are beautiful and luxurious. They’re printed on matte textured paper that enhances the detail and colours of the portrait. The print is 5×7″ and it’s mounted in a thick 8×10″ mat that is archival certified.

Absolutely – Almost every dog you see on my website was photographed with a leash on. With a touch of editing artistry, I seamlessly remove the leashes in post-production, leaving you with elegant, natural-looking portraits.
Safety is my top priority, and keeping your dog on-leash not only ensures their well-being but also helps us adhere to local leash laws and achieve the perfect seemingly-impossible poses. If you’d prefer your dog to be off-leash, that’s entirely fine too. Your comfort and your dog’s happiness are at the heart of our session.
Not at all – Your dog doesn’t need any training whatsoever. Your photo session will be a fun adventure outdoors with some photo breaks along the way. It’s a relaxed, laid back setting where your dog can just be themselves. If they’re a bit wild, even better. I love capturing all aspects of your dog’s personality to create images that reflect their true self.
I’ve photographed every kind of dog. From brand new puppies that didn’t even know their name yet, to deaf and blind senior dogs. No matter your dog’s level of training, I’ll create beautiful portraits of them.
Without a doubt. I have a fearful and reactive dog, so I get it. It can be intimidating to try new things when you’re unsure how they’ll react.
Together, we’ll design a session that sets your dog up for success, ensuring they feel comfortable and confident. Usually, this involves choosing a familiar location your dog already likes, meeting ahead of time to get acquainted with each other and build trust, using a longer lens at the session to keep some distance, and reinforcing your dog’s bravery with plenty of treats and praise.
Together, we design your custom session to ensure it’s fun and accessible for your dog. During our Planning Meeting, we’ll talk about any limitations your dog experiences and any concerns you have. Based on that conversation, we’ll select the perfect location, date, and time for you and your dog.
Whether your dog faces mobility limitations, sensory challenges, or just typical issues for senior dogs, we’ll create a session that allows them to be themselves and have a great time.
We’ll choose your location together. Before your photo session, we’ll have a Planning Meeting where we’ll talk about you and your dog, your style, and your vision for the portraits. This info will help us choose the best location for you.
